Changes in bone mineral density may affect osseointegration processes and the long-term prognosis of implant treatment.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Objective. <\/strong>To assess the condition of periodontal tissues and the quality of jaw bone tissue in patients with systemic osteoporosis during the planning stage of dental implant therapy.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Materials and Methods. <\/strong>A comprehensive examination was performed in 60 patients aged 50\u201368 years. Group I included 15 women with postmenopausal osteoporosis, Group II comprised 22 patients with senile osteoporosis, and Group III consisted of 23 patients without systemic bone pathology. Clinical examination, assessment of dental status indices, cone-beam computed tomography, ultrasonic densitometry, and laboratory investigations were performed.<\/p>\n<p>Results. Patients with osteoporosis demonstrated a significant deterioration in periodontal tissue status, increased caries intensity, and reduced jaw bone density. Bone density values below 300 HU were detected in 93.1% of measurement sites in women with postmenopausal osteoporosis and in 52.8% of measurement sites in patients with senile osteoporosis. The findings indicate the necessity of comprehensive examination of this patient category prior to dental implant placement.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Conclusion. <\/strong>Patients with systemic osteoporosis demonstrated more pronounced changes in periodontal status and jaw bone quality.
